A house inspired by the mixed scandinavian and industrial style to highlight the clients’ heartwarming, bold & straightforward personality. The family inhabiting the house consist of a father, who works as a programmer and a teacher, giving lessons in the house, a mother who is a housewife that loves to bake, a daughter, who is a university student with lots of hobbies such as knitting, building legos, badminton and also doing makeup, and lastly a son who is still in primary school and loves playing games. To accommodate each clients’ interest, facilitie throughout the house are created, such as a separated classroom alongside with a small waiting room and toilet, a maximized kitchen, lots of desk space and a custom shelving unit in the daughter’s room, and a comfortable small hangout place in the son’s room. The house was carried throughout geometric and sharp-edged shapes, playing along with the shapes of rooms. Throughout the house, shapes of rooms were carried out in a way that created elements of surprise in the limited space provided. An open space in the main area including the living room, kitchen, dining room and laundry is planned for a larger space perspective. The color tone throughout the house was maintained in a neutral tone with materials such as wood to highlight the scandinavian style, and materials such as concrete and metal to highlight the industrial style. A hint of pale green color as a color highlight amongst the neutral color was applied as a color favorite of the clients and acts as a sense of relaxation.
